Congrats to Coach Abate’s 15U team for winning the Zero Gravity Central Mass Challenge last weekend! Another championship under their belt. Go Warriors!
Another solid showing this past weekend for the RI Warriors program. More hardware for Coach Wilson and Coach Dugas as they led their 11U team to 3 more victories and and a 3rd straight championship. They are undefeated on the season! Great job players and coaches!!!
12U had a strong weekend as well. They finished 2-1 with their only defeat coming in a 6 point, 70-64, loss to eventual champs the Cape Cod Warriors. Similarly, 14U completed the weekend at 2-1 with their single loss being a 6-point defeat at the hands of MYCW (Mass Youth Committed to Winning). Finally, 13U battled hard all weekend and were involved in two games that were decided by just one point each. They beat the Boston Warriors on Saturday with a final score of 59-58 but lost on Sunday to the North Shore Blizzard 55-54. Keep up the hard work!
Next up the 15U team competes in the Zero Gravity Central Mass Challenge in Worcester this coming weekend. Go Warriors!!!
Great showing at last weekend’s Boston Breakout Challenge hosted by Zero Gravity. The Warriors teams ended up 6-1 overall. Coach Abate’s 15U team finished 2-1, with their only loss coming in a three-point, 64-61, defeat to the Mass Hoops Jaguars. Coach Wilson’s 11U team went undefeated over the weekend (4-0) to win the championship for their division and qualify for the Zero Gravity Finals. Congrats!!!
Great weekend for the RI Warriors program! 12U – Raymond, 13U – Connell, and 15U – Abate all went undefeated in their pools. Each finished 3-0 to win their respective division’s championship.
Additionally, 14U – Mathews went 3-0 to win their pool and advance to their division playoffs, where they lost to a strong New Bedford Hoops team. Their 3-1 finish put them in 3rd place out of a 12 team field. Great job all!!!

The RI Warriors 9th grade team (Coach Jay Abate, Assistant Coach Todd Morgan) captured the championship of the Zero Gravity Boston Bracket Challenge on Saturday for their first championship of the spring season. The win also qualified the 9th grade team for the Zero Gravity National Finals in June!
In their first game the Warriors turned in a defensive gem in defeating Central Mass Swarm 38-15. Zach Scott contributed 13 points on 6 of 9 shooting and pulled down 6 rebounds. Paddy Murphy added 6 points and 6 rebounds while Connor Warner and Lucas Santos led the way in assists with 3 apiece.
In the final, the Warriors fell behind early 9-2 only to exhibit outstanding man to man defense against a talented team en route to a 43-23 halftime lead and an eventual 59-36 Championship victory. Chas Morgan had a game high 14 points (7 for 12 FG’s) along with 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Connor Warner added 13 points shooting 5 for 6 from the field. Zach Scott played the role of playmaker with 5 assists while Lucas Santos added 3 more. Levi King (7), and Santos (6) also highlighted the scoring.
Next up for the 9th Grade Warriors is the Boston Warriors Metrowest Roundball Classic next weekend in Waltham / Boston area.

All other teams played well also. 12U, 13U, and 14U all finished 2-1 in their respective brackets. 15U played in Zero Gravity’s Connecticut Chaos tourney and wrapped up with a 2-2 record. Keep up the great work all!
